Dr. Mohamed Azzam stands out as a visionary in healthcare leadership, with a profound impact in healthcare investment. As CEO of National Blood and Cancer Center, his exceptional management of complex operations and financial growth is noteworthy. His medical background, enriched with an Executive MBA, and deep knowledge in healthcare quality, operations and contracting, make him a strategic asset to investment boards, especially in healthcare sectors. Azzam’s distinguished record in boosting organizational performance and revenue growth exemplifies his sophisticated investment expertise.

Has extensive experience in healthcare as he spent more than 33 years in the pharmaceutical industry sector where he started in SPIMACO until he became the Vice President for Marketing and Sales before being appointed as the CEO of the company in 2014. He was also member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi FDA 2017, representing the private sector. He is currently holds the Chairman of the Board of Directors of WMH, in addition to his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Blood and Cancer Center, where he has succeeded in making a huge shift since assuming the position.

After two years in the clinical field, he changed the career path and worked in different fields within the healthcare sector, such as quality management, project management, strategy and national transformation. Thanks to this experience, along with his MBA, and the experience he gained from working in the well-known consulting firm McKinsey, he has the necessary experience to understand the sector, its transformations, and the importance of investing in it, in addition to how to search for and evaluate opportunities and do what is necessary to ensure their suitability to the company’s strategy

He combines his experience in the health sector, by working in the SPIMACO, where he reached the position of Vice President for Services and Investments, as well as a member of the Board of Directors in the companies “ARAC – Eir Gene – Enaya” and, most recently, the National Blood and Cancer Center, as well as his experience in the financial and investment fields, where he received training from J. P. Morgan Bank. He also holds an Executive MBA from Hult University in Cambridge.

Thanks to his experience in the healthcare sector, where he worked at the SPIMACO, he returned to Al Dhahyan Group to lead the healthcare investments, specifically the group’s investment in the National Blood and Cancer Center as he succeeded with his team in bringing about positive change for the center.

Although he began his career as a physician and Professor in the field of Hematology and Oncology, he recently moved to managerial work in the health sector, after obtaining the Executive Master’s in Health Administration, as he is currently the CEO of the Health Cluster in Madinah.
